Belly Blasters

How do you lose belly fat and sculpt tighter abs? Daily cardio workouts are one key. Running is great for blasting away any stomach fat. You may want to alter your food choices too. Get your daily protein and fiber from plant-based foods. Add some wild Alaskan salmon to your diet. Try to avoid fried fats and stuff from the drive-thru. Keep moving. Sit less. Try drinking 8 glasses of water every day. Then comes the toned muscles phase. Try this -

Exercise - in whatever form or type you can - for at least 30 minutes every day. Any exercise that raises your heart rate and gets you breathing harder is ideal! Every day! Want to lose your belly faster? Run 5 days a week. Drink plenty of water. And skip the white, refined sugars and grains. Give your metabolism a healthy boost with protein early in the day. Metabolism Boosters

Does your quest for a slim and better toned body shape seems harder with each passing year?  Have you ever wondered why you had so little trouble staying skinny as a youngster?

When you were a kid did you play outside more? Did you enjoy running around indoors - or out - with your friends? Did you spend far less time sitting and more time playing? Did you move your body more? Were you generally - more active?

When we were young - our metabolism ran faster. It's natural. Our metabolism tends to naturally slow down a bit as we age and spend more time sitting at a desk.

So how do you boost your metabolism and get skinny again? Or maybe just closer to a healthy weight and better toned body shape?

Two simple habits - exercise and healthy eating choices - are the keys to boosting your metabolism. And burning more calories. And building muscles rather than growing fat cells.

Tabata is a really great workout to help boost your metabolism and build more muscle tone! Try this to get started -

Want to burn more calories all day? Try working out with weights every other day. Start your day off right with a protein-packed breakfast. Give your body the fuel it needs to build muscle and burn more fat! Running is a great way to boost your metabolism.

What and how you eat plays a big role in raising your metabolism - and burning calories. Protein boosts your metabolism. Eating more fiber helps too. Your body has to work a little harder to process fiber. Even drinking more water can give you a boost!

If losing weight and feeling more energized are on your agenda - try adding some exercise to your day. And keep eating healthy.

Burn More Calories in Less Time

Are you stuck inside while yet another blizzard pounds your neighborhood ? Want to burn a bunch of calories and build your strength and stamina? For a great whole body cardio workout - Try rowing!

Try the indoor rower preferred by the experts - the Concept2  Indoor Rowing Machine

Here's how easy the Concept 2 is to put together:

Indoor rowing primarily works the cardiovascular systems with typical workouts consisting of steady pieces of 20–40 minutes, although the standard trial distance for record attempts is 2000 m, which can take from five and a half minutes (best elite male rowers) to nine minutes or more. Like other forms of cardio focused exercise, interval training is also commonly used in indoor rowing. While cardio-focused, rowing also stresses many muscle groups throughout the body anaerobically, thus rowing is often referred to as a strength-endurance sport.

Unlike high impact exercises, which can damage knees and the connective tissues of the lower body, rowing's most common injury site is the lower back. Proper technique is a necessity for staying injury free, with a focus on both mechanics and breathing, as correct rhythm, exhaling on the drive and inhaling on the recovery, is a stabilizing force for the upper body. Non-rowers commonly overemphasize the muscles of the upper body, while correct technique uses the large muscle of the thighs to drive much of the stroke. Also, good technique requires that the angle of the upper body is never too far forward, nor too far back, both of which jeopardize the lower back and compression injuries on the knees and hip flexor muscles.

In addition to the high levels of fitness attained, rowing is an intense calorie-burning exercise.

Getting in Shape

Good Health is not an accident. In our youth many of us are ( or were ) blessed with mostly good health. Maintaining the body you are blessed with is not always easy. The Human body was not really designed to sit behind a desk for 9 hours a day. Or to spend countless hours watching a TV while in a sedentary position. Our bodies are designed to be active.

If getting in shape is on your agenda - cardio exercise is one of your best friends!

Small, simple changes can, in time, lead to a much healthier you. This time of year is an excellent time to get outside and enjoy the beauty of Winter while walking off the pounds. Or running if you're so inclined. Any activity you enjoy that gets you heart pumping and lungs working just a bit harder.

Some ideas to help you start moving more:

Walk with your family. If the weather is nice enough - enjoy a long bike ride!

Dance ( Dance like no one is watching! )

Get a rowing machine. Row for 20 minutes before the rest of the family wakes up. You'll feel better for hours!

Play basketball, hockey, tennis, or volleyball with your friends.

Is the weather outside making you want to stay indoors? Try this to get your heart and lungs pumping -

Burn Fat Fast

Do you want to lose some weight this year? Drop a few pounds maybe? Want to burn more calories and burn fat fast? You may want to add some cardio-exercise to your daily routine. If losing weight and having a slim and trim body are in your list of goals - cardio exercise will help you get there!

If you want to burn more calories all day - squeeze an effective, heart-pumping exercise routine into your schedule and stick with it! Watch your food and drink choices too. Cut out one soda each day and walk a mile each day! You could easily lose over twenty pounds per year with this one tiny change.

How much exercise is needed to make a difference in your weight depends on the amount and type of activity, and on how much you eat. Cardio exercise burns body fat. A medium-sized adult would have to walk more than 30 miles to burn up 3,500 calories, the equivalent of one pound of fat. Although that may seem like a lot, you don’t have to walk the 30 miles all at once. Walking a mile a day for 30 days will achieve the same result.

Want to lose weight fast? Walk or run farther. Mix in some bursts of high intensity - run as fast as you can for half a minute. Then return to a more normal pace.

Wouldn't it be nice if you could wake up and enjoy a nice hot cup of your favorite coffee in the warm comfort of home? And then get in a great half hour of efficient and effective exercise - without even leaving the house? Turn that extra space into your mini-gym. Turn on Youtube and workout with Denise and her crew!

Do you ever have one of those days when you wonder if you are really making any progress at all? Ever find yourself faced with self - doubt? Do not listen to that little naysayer perched on your shoulder. Run another minute.... or ten. Do another set of push-ups or crunches.

Have you tried Zumba? It's a blast! Shake your body. Move to the music! Feel the fun! Zumba lovers everywhere enjoy life more!

Keep it Simple for Better Fitness

Do you wish you could get your body into better shape? Not sure how to get started? Many fitness lovers might suggest keeping it simple.

For the best results - plan two to three days of flexibility and strength training, and three to five days of aerobic workouts each week.

You don't have to be a pro athlete to enjoy the benefits of cross training.

How do you include cross training in your fitness program? Try to vary your exercise activities between aerobic conditioning, strength training, endurance, and balance. And vary the workouts that emphasize each one of those areas.

You don't even have to do a specific workout to get the effects of crossing training if you live a varied and physically active life. They say variety is the spice of life, so try something new as often as you can! Try tennis or swimming, rollerblading, cycling, hiking, jogging, or skiing with friends. Why not enjoy your workouts with friends and family? Sports are also excellent ways to stay socially active and keep your body fit and toned!

Get your heart pumping with some cardio exercise every day. Even a brisk walk is a good start. Build your strength and stamina by going a little longer each day. You might be amazed by the results you'll see if you start taking a long, fast-paced walk every day.

The Fattening of America

Just look around - they are everywhere. Sitting across the aisle in church - or speeding down the highway. People are getting fatter. What is happening to us?

If this trend is left unchecked we here in the good old USA may be faced with a potentially explosive health crisis - and the resulting price tag. Much press has been devoted to the President's Health care agenda lately. The numbers are staggering. Over 800 billion dollars to provide health care coverage for an additional 36 million Americans.

If these medical scientists are even close to accurate in their dire prediction of more obesity and diabetes as a result - we are in for even more expensive health care prices. Diabetes is bad trouble - just ask anyone who has it. Or knows someone who does.

What if you could avoid this potential nightmare - and the incredible costs of treatment? What if you could avoid becoming one of the countless millions who just might develop diabetes due to the ever growing waistline? What can you as an individual do? Here's one way to get started -

Would you invest as few as 30 minutes a day to keeping these health issues at bay? Would you devote yourself to getting up and getting active for as little as a half an hour a day? Would you be willing to cut the useless calories and make the choice to enjoy eating healthier foods at every opportunity?

You can save a yourself a bundle. And help the good old USA avoid some rather expensive health care costs. Do it for yourself. Do it for your country! Do you have a family? Do it for them! Just Do It!!!

You can avoid adult onset diabetes. You can ward off and prevent obesity from entering into your world!

Lose The Belly

The quickest way to lose those extra pounds so many of us carry around involves a very simple two-fold approach.

1. Change your diet and eating patterns. For the next two months eat smaller portions and stop eating anything other than celery or popcorn ( skip the butter and salt ) for your last four hours before sleep! ( You can substitute any very low-calorie snack for celery or popcorn. ) Many successful weight losers have enjoyed eating five or six mini-meals instead of the usual big 3.

Exercise - in whatever form or type you can - for at least 30 minutes every day. Any exercise that raises your heart rate and gets you breathing harder is ideal! Every day! Once you start feeling comfortable with half an hour - start adding a few minutes. The more you do the fast you lose those extra, unwanted pounds!

Think of your workouts as time for yourself, rather than as a chore. On days when you’re unmotivated, convince yourself to exercise for just ten minutes. After getting started, you’ll probably do much more.

Whether you want a tighter tummy and tush or simply hope to lose a few pounds, set yourself up for success by setting a few short-term goals. Keep them simple. Then, try rewarding yourself as you reach each milestone. Treat yourself to a new pair of running shoes after you lose those first five pounds. Or take the family out to your favorite eatery after you run your first whole mile – without stopping! Keep your goals simple and within reach – you’ll accomplish them sooner! Then, set new, slightly tougher goals!

Keep it fun. Enjoy a healthy variety of different sports. Vary your workouts with different exercises. Ever tried yoga or swimming? Many healthy fitness lovers enjoy the benefits of using low-impact exercise equipment. Buy an elliptical and turn your extra room into a mini fitness center!

Try to keep eating healthy foods. Start your day with a protein rich, healthy breakfast. Keep an eye on your calories.

5 Steps to Better Health

Five simple habits can help you change your life for the better! Take your time. Adopt a new habit each week for the next several weeks. And stick with it! You'll soon realize some of the benefits of better health and fitness! Want less stress? Maybe you'd like to have more energy? Enjoy Life more! Try these 5 simple steps to better health. Smile and enjoy the journey!

1. Eat healthy foods - preferably 4 to 6 smaller meals a day. Eating more often helps your metabolism. Enjoy an occasional treat. Just try to keep a majority of your food choices healthy. Enjoy good, natural foods that are high in nutrients, fiber, "good fats," and lean protein. Get some protein early in the day.

2. Sleep at least seven hours every night. Try to get on a schedule and stick with it. Guard your sleep time closely. People who sleep at least seven hours a night tend to enjoy overall better health and are ill less often than those of us who can't seem to find enough time for at least seven hours.

3. Exercise and stay active. Americans spend a great deal of time sitting. Its unavoidable - we sit at our desks for hours on end, and in the car. Then we go home and sink into a favorite easy chair. But the human body was built to be active. So take a walk, go for a jog or a bike ride. Get a jump rope, or do some push-ups and jumping jacks. No need to spend a fortune at the local health club. You can stay active and get in better shape without shelling out a small fortune every month!

4. Schedule a little quiet time for yourself each day - as few as 15 minutes to relax and free your mind. President Reagan used to take a brief nap every day. Millions of healthy, happy folks enjoy some quiet time early in the morning reflecting on all they have to be thankful for. Make an appointment with yourself. Write it down in your calendar. Spend just 10 or 15 minutes each afternoon clearing your mind and relaxing. For the best results, go outside and breathe in some fresh air.

5. Laugh. Find something each day to laugh at. Grab a funny book or pick up a comedy at the library. Rent a funny movie. Laughter is good for your brain and your whole body! Release some healthy endorphins in your brain and laugh as much and as loud as you like!

Try these simple and effective steps to better health and fitness!
