The quickest way to lose weight is start getting in shape fast!

The benefits of exercise are many, from producing physically fit bodies to providing an outlet for fun and socialization. When added to a weight control program these benefits take on increased significance.

We already have noted that proper exercise can help control weight by burning excess body fat. It also has two other body-trimming advantages 1) exercise builds muscle tissue and muscle uses calories up at a faster rate than body fat; and 2) exercise helps reduce inches and a firm, lean body looks slimmer even if your weight remains the same.

Remember, fat does not "turn into" muscle, as is often believed. Fat and muscle are two entirely different substances and one cannot become the other. However, muscle does use calories at a faster rate than fat which directly affects your body's metabolic rate or energy requirement. Your basal metabolic rate (BMR) is the amount of energy required to sustain the body's functions at rest and it depends on your age, sex, body size, genes and body composition. People with high levels of muscle tend to have higher BMRs and use more calories in the resting stage.

Some studies have even shown that your metabolic rate stays elevated for some time after vigorous exercise, causing you to use even more calories throughout your day. Additional benefits may be seen in how exercise affects appetite. A lean person in good shape may eat more following increased activity, but the regular exercise will burn up the extra calories consumed. On the other hand, vigorous exercise has been reported to suppress appetite. And, physical activity can be used as a positive substitute for between meal snacking. The quickest way to lose weight fast is with daily exercise and eating healthy. Start today - start enjoying life more with healthy eating habits and the natural high you'll get from daily exercise! Start getting in shape fast and you'll live a much happier and fuller life!

Visualize your fitness goals - Start Getting in Shape Fast

Years ago the Russian Olympics Team ran away with the Gold. They won more gold medals - hands down - than any other country. The Russian athletes walked away with the Gold in events that no one even imagined they would win.

What was their secret? How did they achieve such incredible results? The power of visualization is an incredible - and proven - boost to achieving any goal you set out for.

Many fitness experts agree that visualization can be a great help in achieving your fitness goals. Believing in yourself—believing that you can leap barriers and achieve your goals—is the ticket to success in just about any endeavor. One of the most powerful tools for building self-confidence is visualization.

This easy technique involves imagining the accomplishment of the changes or goals you're working to achieve. It is a process of "training" purely within the mind. By visualizing in detail your successful execution of each step in a given activity, you create, modify, or strengthen brain pathways that are important in coordinating your muscles for the visualized activity. This prepares you to perform the activity itself.

Visualize hitting that perfect backhand. Or watch your drive hit the middle of the fairway. See yourself running that extra half mile. Try to remember how great you felt when you finished your last run. Or hit that perfect serve. Or picture yourself walking off the track - after you've just ran those few extra laps. Feel that exhilarating sense of power you get upon completing your workout. Feel the tired - yet refreshing - condition you're sure to enjoy after a great, strenuous workout.

Setting realistic goals and taking action will boost your efforts toward getting in shape fast - or any goal you set out to accomplish! Believe you can!

Just the facts... Start Getting in Shape fast

Summer is the best time to continue - or even start - getting in shape fast. More time for outdoor activities and sports. Warmer temeratures help us burn more calories. Start today - exercise and lose weight fast.

Check out these disturbing facts and you'll want to get out and get moving.

Adults 18 and older need 30 minutes of physical activity on five or more days a week to be healthy; children and teens need 60 minutes of activity a day for their health.

Significant health benefits can be obtained by including a moderate amount of physical activity (e.g., 30 minutes of brisk walking or raking leaves, 15 minutes of running, 45 minutes of playing volleyball). Additional health benefits can be gained through greater amounts of physical activity.

Thirty to sixty minutes of activity broken into smaller segments of 10 or 15 minutes throughout the day has significant health benefits.

Moderate daily physical activity can reduce substantially the risk of developing or dying from cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, and certain cancers, such as colon cancer. Daily physical activity helps to lower blood pressure and cholesterol, helps prevent or retard osteoporosis, and helps reduce obesity, symptoms of anxiety and depression, and symptoms of arthritis.

Heart disease is the leading cause of death among men and women in the United States. Physically inactive people are twice as likely to develop coronary heart disease as regularly active people.

37% of adults report they are not physically active. Only 3 in 10 adults get the recommended amount of physical activity.

Poor diet and inactivity can lead to overweight/obesity. Persons who are overweight or obese are at increased risk for high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, coronary heart disease, stroke, gallbladder disease, osteoarthritis, sleep apnea, respiratory problems and some types of cancer.

41 million Americans are estimated to have pre-diabetes. Most people with pre-diabetes develop type 2 diabetes within 10 years, unless they make changes to their diet and physical activity that results in a loss of about 5-7 percent of their body weight.

Obesity continues to climb among American adults. Nearly 60 million Americans are obese. More than 108 million adults are either obese or overweight. That means roughly 3 out of 5 Americans carry an unhealthy amount of excess weight.

The percentage of adults in the United States who were overweight or obese (body mass index greater than or equal to 25) in 1999-2002 was 65 percent. Overweight and obesity cuts across all ages, racial and ethnic groups, and both genders. A new study in the Netherlands found that excess weight cuts years off your life.

16 percent of children and teens aged 6 to 19 were overweight in 1999-2002, triple the proportion in 1980. Fifteen-percent of children in the same age group are considered at-risk for overweight. The percentage of overweight African American, Hispanic, and Native American children is about 20%.

More than 10 percent of children between the ages of 2 and 5 are overweight, double the proportion since 1980.

Scary numbers and potentially scary outcomes. Don't succumb to a sedentary lifestyle. Start your fitness quest today! Start getting in shape fast!

Don't become a statistic - Exercise and lose weight fast!
