Make the Most of Your Lunch Hour!

Who has time to exercise? With so many responsibilities to tend to, many of us are hard pressed to find time for exercise. We can sneak in a little exercise here and there and end up feeling better and looking better! Try to make the most of your lunch hour if you can and get a little exercise in over the lunch hour!

Spend 20 minutes eating healthy foods. Try some whole grain pita or tortillas filled with shredded carrots, avocado, chopped tomatoes, and spinach. Add in a hard-boiled egg ( skip the yolk ) or some wild-caught, salmon. Have an apple – or some applesauce and maybe a nice cup of green tea. The possibilities are practically endless. Just be sure to get plenty of vegetables and fruits.

Then, for the remainder of your lunch time – get outside and walk. Walk fast. Slow down for a minute or two, then pick up your pace to as fast as you can for a few minutes. Do some stretches. Enjoy the wonderful sights, smells, and sounds of nature – if you can.

Don’t have time to leave the office? Can you find some stairs and walk the stairs for 10 or 15 minutes? Doing the stairs will work your legs, butt, and your core muscles. And give you a great little cardio workout!

Do you have a small meeting scheduled that you can move outdoors ? Convince your associate(s) to walk with you while you meet. Bring along a little voice recorder if you need to and then have someone write up your notes afterward.

Workout during lunch and you’ll have loads more energy for the rest of the day!
Remember – the quickest way to lose weight is eating healthy and start getting in shape – fast!
