How to Enjoy Life

Have you ever thought about giving Yoga a try? Yoga is great for helping to manage life's inevitable stressors. You can enjoy life more. You can teach yourself to focus and stretch your body in ways you may have thought impossible.

Maybe you're like so many others who aren't sure how to get started? Check this out -

Henry Ford - that great visionary and incredibly successful founder of Ford Motor Co is said to have told some of his engineers one day- "If you think you can or you think you can't - You're right!" So, tell yourself you can.

Just a few simple habits – practiced regularly – often lead to much happier and more fulfilling lives.

Enjoy eating healthy foods – good, natural foods that are high in nutrients, fiber, “good fats,” and lean protein. Enjoy a variety of fruits and vegetables daily. Get some protein early in the day.

Exercise and stay active. So many of us tend to spend a great deal of time sitting. Its unavoidable – we sit at our desks for hours on end, and in the car. Then we go home and sink into a favorite easy chair. If you want a better life - a life filled with more fun and less stress - start a new daily habit. Exercise every day. Your choices are almost endless. And the benefits can help you enjoy more energy and vigor. Life is short - why not make the most of your time here on Earth?

Start Your Day Off Right

How do you start your typical day? A cup of coffee? Some quiet time maybe? Or is it a quick shower and off to the races getting the little ones off to school and day-care?

Some healthy fitness lovers enjoy a few minutes of exercise in their early morning routine. These healthy folks find they often have more energy throughout the day after some refreshing early morning exercise. Try it for a couple weeks. Get up a few minutes earlier each day and start your morning with some slow stretches and an energetic, heart-pumping run. Don't feel quite ready for running yet? Start walking. Gradually increase your time and intensity a little each day. The key is to get your heart-rate up and get to the point where your lungs are really working! Every few minutes - push yourself a little harder for a couple minutes. Then back off to a slightly more comfortable pace.

For a more toned, and muscular body - add some simple weight-bearing exercise to your routine. Do a couple sets of 10 push ups before you head out for the day.

Follow up your morning cardio with a protein packed breakfast. Give your body a good dose of healthy protein early and your metabolism will stay elevated longer throughout the day. Your body will be burning calories hours after that energizing morning run! Give your fat-burners a healthy kick-start every morning and you'll soon feel like you have more energy.

Try this daily for 21 days. Exercise every day. Or, at least 5 days out of every week. Daily exercise will kick into gear those endorphins that help you enjoy life more. These miracle chemicals usually lead to more happy days and far fewer stressful days!

If you have been - like so many of us - slowly adding inches around your waistline and mid-section, take heart! You can enjoy life more with unimaginable levels of energy and vitality. Try starting your day with some energizing exercise and see if you don't feel more energetic all day!

Look and Feel Years Younger

Have you ever noticed how some people tend to age more gracefully than others? Take a look at Christie Brinkley. She first graced the cover of the famed Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue around 30 years ago. And she still looks amazing - in her 50s!

We all know someone like Christie - someone who manages to stay younger looking despite their years.

So, what is their secret? How do they manage to stay vibrant and look so hot?

One clear answer to this age-old dilemma is the habits you live with. Do you smoke? Do you drink enough water? How about exercise? Are you eating healthy foods or - like so many of us - settling for convenient fast foods? ( Or maybe one could say fat foods! )

If you want to look - and feel - years younger, take a long look at your habits and see what you might change to improve. If you smoke - take whatever steps you can to stop.

Do you get enough exercise? Really vigorous, heart pumping exercise? Just a little daily exercise offers the following benefits:

Helps you enjoy way more energy.
Keeps your body firm and flexible.
Keep your bones and muscles strong.
Keep your heart and lungs healthy.
Can vastly improve your sex life!
Controls high blood sugar, especially if you lose weight.
Exercise even reduces stress.
Help you feel better about yourself and enjoy greater self esteem!
Relieve boredom or depression.

The upside is clear - exercise more and you enjoy a better quality of life at any age! It's never too soon or too late to start a daily exercise program. Look at Christie - she looks like she gets plenty of exercise!

While you're at it - take an honest look at the food choices you make. If losing weight is on your list of goals for this year - the quickest way to lose weight is simply daily exercise and eating healthy foods.

If you want to look and feel years younger - make these simple and effective habits part of your daily life! Start getting in shape - fast.

Never Too Late to Start Getting in Shape

Are you over 40? How would you like to feel 20 years younger AND re-gain some of that spark and vigor you enjoyed in younger years?

Try to do at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity (like brisk walking) on most or all days of the week. Want better results? And sooner rather than later?  Gradually build up your workout time to an hour a day.

Also try to do strengthening activities two or three times a week. These activities are important because older adults—especially women—lose muscle and bone mass every year. Strengthening activities may help prevent or lessen this loss.

Fitting in physical activity is not as hard as you may think, and you do not have to do the whole 30 minutes at one time. Try these tips to overcome things that may keep you from being active.

Don't let doubts get in your way -

Do you ever find yourself thinking -

“It’s too late for me to get in better shape.”

It is never too late to start moving more. Regular exercise or physical activity can help you manage health problems like arthritis, bone loss, and heart disease.

Even just a little daily exercise can provide the following benefits:
  • Keep your body flexible.
  • Keep your bones and muscles strong.
  • Keep your heart and lungs healthy.
  • Control high blood sugar, especially if you lose weight.
  • Give you more energy.
  • Exercise can reduce stress.
  • Help you feel better about yourself and enjoy greater self esteem!
  • Relieve boredom or depression.
The upside is clear - exercise more and you enjoy a better quality of life at any age! It's never too soon or too late to start getting in shape!

Please note: If you are over age 60 or have chronic health problems such as coronary heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, osteoporosis, or obesity, talk to a Doctor or a trusted health care provider before starting a vigorous physical activity program. (You probably won't need to talk to your provider before starting a less strenuous activity like walking.)

You Get to Choose

Would you like to sculpt your body into a slimmer, more toned body type? Do you ever wish you had just a few more minutes each day and the energy to enjoy them? Would you enjoy having more fun and maybe a lot less stress?

The Choice is yours. We each get to choose our paths and our actions. We even get to choose the outcomes. The right steps will lead to any goal we set out to reach!

What do you want to change? Do you want tighter abs perhaps? Maybe you'd settle for just slimming your body some?

Decide what you want. Write it down. Get a picture of what you want? See yourself reaching your goal. Imagine yourself having loads more energy. Visualize your outcome. Picture yourself walking on the soft wet sand of your favorite beach this Winter - wearing that hot looking outfit to show off your slimmer body.

Now, start taking action. Depending on the seize of your goal - or how much it will take to reach your goal - you may need to start big! Be reasonable with yourself. No one loses 20 pounds in one week and starts looking great in a tiny little swimsuit in one week.

Take stock of where you are today and where you want to get to. Make a good faith estimate of what you need to do to get there. Then get going. Write down your goal and the steps you take to reach it.

Evaluate your progress every week or two. Are you on the right path? Are you seeing progress? If you start seeing results, great. If you don't - maybe its time to reevaluate your action plan. Maybe you need to alter your plan and adjust your action steps.

Remember the words of the late Winston Churchill - Never, ever give up. If you aren't seeing fast results - try a different route. Take more action. Vary your approach. Just keep moving in the direction of your goal!

You can have a slimmer, sexier body. You can enjoy life more in a leaner and more energized physique! You can reduce your stress and have more fun. Be stingy - invest in yourself first. Schedule a little time just for you each day. Make the choice to have life your way. On your terms. You get to choose!
